New Kensington Celebrates the Season

NEW KENSINGTON - The city is getting into the spirit of the season with a number of upcoming holiday festivities that take place next week.

The festivities kick off with a Christmas tree lighting at 5:30 p.m. Friday, November 30. The event takes place at the clock on 9th Street and 4th Avenue. That same evening, the third annual Mayor's Dinner begins at 6 p.m. Taking place at New Kensington #1 Fire Hall, the event is free and open to the public.

The next day, the celebration continues at 11 a.m. with the city's Christmas parade and Santa's Workshop. Santa's Workshop takes place at Westmoreland County Community College.
